If one were to extrapolate the electric acid-tinged layers of the Flaming Lips and reverse the moody darkness of Arcade Fire you would get pretty close to the look, sound and feel of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. A "happy Arcade Fire" as a friend told me. The massive 12-member ensemble band is a feast for be-in, neo-hippie enthusiasm. On the flipside, taking a cynic's view, a massive target for fun-averse hipster elitists. You can already picture the dregs inhabitants of the dark, stained bowels of Brooklyn Vegan's comment section shooting their unfunny pejorative without regard.
