Today there has been a little tingle of excitement in the air. It’s around that time again and finally the ‘10 Splendour lineup has been released, and from what I hear, everyone is a happy chap. Splendour in the Grass 2010 is hitting a new change of scenery this year (away from the norm, being Byron) at the lovely Woodford in QLD, July 30th until the 1st of August. For a little introduction/bit of information, read the following:
SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS, one of Australia’s most celebrated music festivals is set to commemorate its 10-year anniversary with its most exciting event yet.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the little event called SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS made its debut in Byron Bay. The mid winter event which consistently featured quality music acts alongside quirky arts and counter-culture was quickly embraced by music lovers. In the ensuing years SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS has featured a spectacular collection of awesome artists from around the globe and has reached icon status, with tickets selling out within minutes of going on sale.
Fast-forward to 2010 and the beautiful site of WOODFORDIA in the QLD Sunshine Coast hinterland will play host to SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS in this very special anniversary year. And this year, the birthday party will take place over three magnificent days from Friday July 30th to Sunday August 1st 2010.
This year, for the first time, we’re proud to serve up our much-anticipated line-up on one big, fat platter. That’s more than 80 acts that will perform across our three main stages – the Amphitheatre, Mix Up Tent and G.W. McLennan Stage.
But first, we need to provide detail on the all-important event ticket and camping information, which has changed for the 2010 event.
The capacity at Woodfordia is 30,000, with enough room on site for 20,000 campers. As a result, there will be a combined event and camping ticket available for the first time. The event/camping ticket will provide access to the campgrounds from Wednesday 28th July with the actual event site opening 4pm Thursday 29th July until 12 midday on Monday 2nd August. Please note the Amphitheatre, Mix Up and McLennan stages will be operating on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.
The Woodfordia campground will be the most convenient and affordable place to stay during the event. All you need is on site in our splendid mini-city, right on your grassy doorstep. Come join the organisers, crew, staff and many of the artists who will also be camping out under the stars.
Those who are not camping with us can purchase an event-only ticket that will provide entry to the festival from Friday 30th July to Sunday 1st August. However, we would strongly recommend that you do your research before choosing this option. Unless you’re lucky enough to live nearby or can stay with somebody who does, then you will need to be prepared to travel quite a distance each day from other centres of accommodation. We will again give audience members the opportunity to offset their travel emissions to and from SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS. We’ve had an overwhelming response to this unique environmental initiative in the past and we’re sure that our carbon crusading audience members will continue to fight the good fight.
And onto the masssive lineup….

Responsible for the most mysterious happening within the last months is a heartrending precious sound, combined with a variety of names, responsible for confusion: Memory Cassette, Memory Tapes and Weird Tapes. Ignoring any name & meaning, New Jersey boy Dayve Hawk composes soundtracks of life and inspirations for colorful thoughts. Weird/Memory Tapes/Cassette endues his intransigent works with haunting nostalgic feelings & an easygoing airy topping.
In 2009 Dayve Hawk dropped his Call & Response EP under the alias Memory Cassette, including 4 rousing tracks, that are going to catch your sins, perfectly served with two great video-clips: Surfin/Body In The Water and Asleep at a Party/ Last One Awake. As his alter ego Memory Tapes he made a present to the globe with the Seek Magic EP, consisting of 8 stellar tracks, we already shared 3 of. Both records dated the world on Acephale Records. We give away 2 originals of Memory whatever, 2 remixes (incl. the best Heartbeats-workover ever) and definitely have to admit, Hawk is
TFLs wizard and catcher of the year & served the best remix in the big 9

Love, love, LOVE Brooklyn's Yeasayer! Been obsessed ever since I first heard the brilliance of '2080' off their previous album All Hour Cymbals. So, needless to say, I am filled with anticipation for their upcoming album ODD BLOOD due for release next February through Secretly Canadian! To give us a taste of whats to come, they have recently released the albums first single titled 'Ambling Alp.' If it's any indication of what we should be expecting, this one is gonna be a contender for best album of 2010! So much more polished and put together than their previous work, I am infatuated with this song!Could this get any better? Well, actually, yes! How about if I told you there's already an absolute genius Memory Tapes remix? Amazing.<object data="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/player.swf" id="audioplayer1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="290" height="24"> <param name="movie" value="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/player.swf"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&soundFile=http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/Yeasayer-AmblingAlp.mp3"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></object>MP3: Ambling Alp - Yeasayer<script language="JavaScript" src="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/audio-player.js"></script><object data="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/player.swf" id="audioplayer1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="290" height="24"> <param name="movie" value="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/player.swf"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&soundFile=http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/Yeasayer-AmblingAlp(MemoryTapesRemix).mp3"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></object>MP3: Ambling Alp (Memory Tapes Remix) - Yeasayer<script language="JavaScript" src="http://offtheradarmusic.com/audio/audio-player.js"></script>
