Here are several remixes of "1901" and "Lisztomania" which are the two best tracks from Phoenix's latest release Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. But to start off here's the band's live performance in the KEXP studios from early summer 2009. Okay, now that that's out of the way, you've listened and/or downloaded, let's get that great big ol' glitter ball out of storage and boogie (Jesus, I even feel stupid typing that, much less saying it aloud).Subscribe to Sixeyes feed here.Phoenix Live @ KEXP (Thomas Mars, Christian Mazzalai)lisztomania1901playground love (air cover)armistice"Lisztomania" Remixesalex metric remixholy ghost love paris remixclasixx remixder die das remixyuksek remixdr rosen rosen remix25 hours a day remix"1901" Remixesteenagers garage band remixl'aiglon remix (my personal favourite)immuzikation remixalan wilkis remixsaycet remix

So I’m not the biggest fan/listener of Shwayze, but when my main man Alan Wilkis is attached to something I tune in. Glad I did for Wilkis’ new remix of Shwayze’s “Get U...

We've heard at least a half dozen "1901" remixes already, but our main homey Alan Wilkis finally made one worth cranking in your Tata. Though this version doesn't outmuscle the original (obviously), the extra-ominously layered synth raises disturbing questions about nineteen second recaps of Kubrick classics and turn of the century soirées. In this video we ask, "What does '1901' really mean, Phoenix? What?"<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lSqyiprH9cs&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lSqyiprH9cs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>While this video only raises more questions, know this: Wolfgang Amadeus and Wilkis' new EP Pink and Purple are both slated for a May release, and our imaginary friend Tony says they're going to be dope.<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf" id="audioplayer1" height="24" width="290"><param name="movie" value="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&soundFile=http://butterteam.com/08_1901_ORIGINAL.mp3"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></object>Phoenix - 1901 (from Wolfgang Amadeus)<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf" id="audioplayer1" height="24" width="290"><param name="movie" value="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&soundFile=http://butterteam.com/02_1901_Alan_Wilkis_Remix.mp3"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></object>Phoenix - 1901 (Alan Wilkis Rmx)<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf" id="audioplayer1" height="24" width="290"><param name="movie" value="http://butterteam.com/Audio/player.swf"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&soundFile=http://butterteam.com/03_1901_Diese_Remix.mp3"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="menu" value="false"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></object>Phoenix - 1901 (Diese Rmx)Related investigatory journalism:Life Before Interstella 5555Mac & Me/Architecture in HelsinkiCount Duckula/Danger MousePlanisphere/Interstella 5555Adventures of Air Wolf/McGyver/Nintendo

What could possibly make these slow work weeks just breeze by? How ’bout a remix in my inbox from Alan Wilkis - a man that has some serious funk flowing through his veins. He’s busy at work on his new EP, Pink and Purple, but he’s also been dabbling in the remix. He sent over his rework of Phoenix’s “1901″. I’m already high on this band from their stellar performance on SNL, so any reason to listen to them again is a plus. Wilkis does a good job as well. Take a listen:

Friend of Ickmusic Alan Wilkis shot this remix over to me earlier this week and I simply cannot stop listening to it. With Phoenix coming off their stellar SNL performance (seriously, who did they pay to get the sound right because this season has been the worst for musical acts on SNL) this is ready-made to get you moving. I’ll even go as far as to say that I like the original, but I love this remix. Check it out for yourself…

Alan also let it slip that he’s working on an EP to be released in late May. You can be sure that we’ll have all the details when the record drops.

*MP3: Phoenix - "1901" (Alan Wilkis Remix)It seems that most everyone is taking a crack at remixing "1901" by Phoenix, and most of them are crap. However, this remix provided by Alan Wilkis is pretty hot. Props to Culture of Me for the find.(Ian Anderson)
