The move went fine, and all them boxes are more or less unpacked by now. The phone, iMac, stereo and fridge are connected already, and what more can one ask for really? The Political Economy of Passion

The only way to make love worthwhile is without caution. Kahimi Karie - Habanera Trapeziste  (2003) Roberto Cardoso - Taquito Militar (Milonga Porteña) Guitarra (Dial, 1999) Susana Baca - De los Amores Eco de Sombras (Luaka Bop, 2000) Brigitte Fontaine - Il se passe des choses Brigitte Fontaine… est Folle (Saravah, 1968) Love - A House is not a Motel Forever Changes (1967) Scott Walker - The Old Man’s Back Again Scott 4 (1969) Tango is a practice already ready for struggle. It knows about taking sides, positions, risks. It has the experience of domination/resistance from within. Tango, stretching the colonized stereotypes of the latino-macho-Catholic fatalism, is a language of decolonization. So, pick and choose. Improvise. Hide away. Run after them. Stay still. Move at an astonishing speed. Shut up. Scream a rumor. Turn around. Go back without returning. Upside down. Let your feet do the thinking. Be comfortable in your restlessness. Tango. – Marta E. Savigliano, Tango and the Political Economy of Passion.

Slip inside this house

The move went fine, and all them boxes are more or less unpacked by now. The phone, iMac, stereo and fridge are connected already, and what more can one ask for really? But as I still got a million other things to do, I don´t really feel like blogging extensively at the moment. Here´s a few cool songs about houses and homes to keep you happy for the time being though. Two classics, at least in my book: Arthur Lee´s Love and Roky´s Elevators. A beautiful demo by that good ole silver fox Charlie Rich, plus a great song by those way underrated Finnish guys 22-Pistepirkko. And last but not least a fairly recent - and fantastically titled - track by Woodpigeon, an upcoming talent. Enjoy!Woodpigeon - Home As A Romanticized Concept Where Everyone Loves You Always And Forever MP3Charlie Rich - Feel Like Going Home (demo) MP322-Pistepirkko - Don´t Go Home Joe MP313th Floor Elevators - Slip Inside This House MP3Love - A House Is Not A Motel MP3
