This extremely pixelated image pretty much defines Doubledrop to a “T”. Doubledrop aka Steve Teeple is good people, and so are the ones he rolls with. Diamonds, The Glamour, OCD Automatic, Black Holes and Kid Color are all good company and all equally as personable… Not to mention they’re all extremely talented artists. Anyhow, I’m pleased to present Steve’s Close To Midnight mix, because he’s been talking it up for like 2 years now (not really, it just took him forevs). Although there were a few hiccups through-out the 42 minute mix, I felt that the track selection was incredible and ultimately makes it worthy of a listen. It’s a solid mix.

Incredible track by Hostage/ AC Slater!
The “Shake It” Ep by Hostage has been available via Beatport for over 2 weeks now, but this AC Slater remix hasn’t been shared anywhere. Now is the time! So we received yet another great track via AC Slater, this time being a remix off of Hostage’s new Shake It EP, which can be purchased on Beatport. The song is really tight, and kinda reminds me of that scene in the Matrix where they have all-out orgy/rave before going to war. It actually gets me really pumped for New Years, which is juuuust around the corner. Sidenote: Forgive the boring quality of this post, I haven’t really slept for 3 days. the nightshifters label is killing it! they continue to pump out massive track after massive track, including this new ac slater remix of hostage. it's a bit slower than we're used to for slater, but don't be fooled by the quiet intro because the bass is coming. i love the way you can hear him creep into the song and then just leave a gigantic bass imprint on your eardrum. i have reports from various spots around the world that this track kills on the dancefloor, too.hostage - shake it (ac slater remix)you can snag the rest of the ep here on beatport!

Brooklyn based AC Slater just sent us his newest remix and just in time, because we have been scrounging for good stuff to post. AC Slater consistently puts out great mixes. This time the victim is from the UK and goes by the name of Hostage. There is nothing new here really, as it is just what you’ve come to expect from him. Wobbly bass, kick, punch, but it always goes into the mix and sounds huge.
Check him out at Studio B in Brooklyn this Friday and make sure you bring some canned food for the unfortunate people out there so you can sleep good at night.
